Burmese translation services in Indianapolis

Indianapolis has a large and long-established community from Myanmar, concentrated on the south side. If your staff, students, or patients include Burmese speakers, translated paperwork is the difference between a document being filed and being understood.

Start with the documents that carry the most risk

Most organizations try to translate everything at once, stall on cost, and translate nothing. A better order:

  • Safety and medical instructions — highest consequence when misread.
  • Anything with a deadline or a signature — consent forms, benefit enrollment, discipline notices, lease terms. A missed date costs a family far more than the translation costs you.
  • Recurring letters — the ten forms you send every year. Translate once, reuse indefinitely.

An important local note on language

Indianapolis’s Myanmar community includes a very large Chin population, and Chin languages — Hakha, Falam, Tedim, Zomi — are not Burmese, and are written in the Latin alphabet. A Burmese translation may not reach a Chin-speaking family at all, and dialects differ enough that a Hakha speaker may not follow Zomi.

We translate Burmese, and we will say so plainly when Burmese isn’t what your audience reads — that is cheaper for you than discovering it after the print run. Our guide on telling these languages apart explains how to ask families without guessing, and how to book an interpreter covers spoken communication.

Pricing

  • $39 per document up to 3 pages, $12/page after
  • From $299 for a workplace package (handbook or safety set)
  • From $199/month for schools and agencies sending letters weekly
  • Rush (next business day) +50% · invoice or card · W-9 on request

Language access is also a legal obligation

Organizations receiving federal funds — public schools, hospitals, benefits offices — must give people with limited English meaningful access to their services. Our plain-English explainer on what Title VI actually requires lays out which documents are considered vital and how to comply without a large budget.
